Community Standards
Tela is a community of real people buying and selling pre-loved fashion in Singapore. These standards keep everyone safe and welcome. They apply everywhere on Tela — listings, messages, offers, reviews, and profiles. Breaking them can lead to a warning, hidden content, or a suspended account. They should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
1. Be respectful
Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. The following are never allowed:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation.
- Hate speech or discrimination based on race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Sexual harassment, unwanted advances, or sexually explicit messages.
- Spam, or repeatedly messaging someone who has asked you to stop.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can report or block them from the chat, and report their profile. We review every report.
2. Keep it on Tela
Every purchase made on Tela is covered by Buyer Protection — your payment is held securely until you confirm your order, and tracked delivery is arranged for you. That protection only works when the whole deal happens on Tela.
- Don't take payments off-platform.Requests to pay by PayNow, PayLah!, bank transfer, or cash "directly" are the most common way scammers operate — once money leaves Tela, we can't help recover it.
- Don't move the conversation to WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, or any other app. Keeping chats on Tela means we can help if something goes wrong.
- To protect you, we automatically hide phone numbers and email addresses shared in chat, and flag attempts to arrange off-platform payment.
3. Protect your privacy
Don't share personal or sensitive information in chat — yours or anyone else's:
- Phone numbers, home addresses, or email addresses (your delivery address is collected securely at checkout — you never need to send it in chat).
- NRIC/FIN, bank account or card details, or Singpass information.
- One-time passwords (OTPs) — Tela staff will never ask for your OTP, password, or payment details. Anyone who does is trying to scam you.
4. Sell honestly — no scams
- List only items you own and can ship. Describe them accurately, with your own clear photos and any flaws shown.
- No counterfeits or replicas of branded goods.
- No fake listings, "bait and switch", or asking buyers to pay before you've listed a real item.
- Ship what was sold, on time, and mark it shipped honestly. Don't ask buyers to confirm delivery before their item arrives.
5. Prohibited items
Tela is for pre-loved fashion and accessories. Don't list weapons, illegal or recalled goods, counterfeits, hazardous materials, animals, digital accounts, or anything that isn't legal to sell in Singapore.
6. Reporting & enforcement
We use automated screening and human review to keep Tela safe. Messages that share contact details or attempt off-platform payment are hidden or flagged for review. You can report any listing, message, or profile from within the app.
Depending on severity, we may warn you, hide or remove content, restrict features, or suspend or permanently close your account. Serious cases — fraud, threats, or illegal activity — may be reported to the authorities.
